I recently purchased a Toyota RAV4 from A1 Toyota. The dealership promotes a bottom line, no negotiation pricing model. The vehicle price itself was reasonable, and it’s clear the dealership still earned a profit. However, several aspects of the experience were disappointing and raise concerns about transparency and professionalism.
1. Excessive Conveyance Fee A1 Toyota charges a $999 “conveyance fee.” This fee is discretionary, can be set at any amount the dealership chooses, and is often used to recoup internal costs such as registration processing, fuel, and vehicle preparation. Professional, quick, and remarkably attentive. I got to work with Alif, who was exceptionally knowledgeable and was able to show me what I was looking for down to exact details. The whole experience was very pleasant, and I absolutely recommend them.
I am giving this dealer a one star review for many reasons. If detailed, the dealer staff will deny and call me insane like they did below to another bad review!!!!!!!

In over 50 years of buying cars A1 hands done is the BEST, most transparent dealership I have every used. Don't waste your time @ WLFD Toyota or others. They are a NO B.S operation, NOT the old school way of buying a car. I would absolutely recommend A1.
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received during my recent experience at A1. Not only was I required to pay a $1000 negotiable (CT Law) fee for dealer "dues" (it is a very much non-negotiable fee at A1) but the experience as a whole was the opposite of what I wanted or have previously experienced. I would be happy to pay for any services that a fee would cover but the overall service provided was far below the standard without any clear justification or value in return.

I ordered a car from Dealer in June. On August 3rd, Salesperson Lina called me on the company phone and said that the car had arrived and the remote starter on had not been installed yet, I told Lina that I did not want a remote starter.

My experience with A-1 Toyota was excellent especially with the sales representative, Quincy Smith, who was top flight He was knowledgeable and helpful without pushing to sell me on the car. When the paper were signing he spent over an hour goin g through the details and fielded several calls that I made after I got home with the car. At the end of the process I looked at him as a friend.
While I ended up being unable to secure a car through A-1 after a couple months with a deposit on the books, that doesn’t at all take away from the great experience I had with them. Gary and Kyle are the reason I come back to this dealership. This is the 5th vehicle that I’ve bought from A-1. Kyle is the best sales person I’ve ever worked with. They make me feel comfortable, and that’s why I would never even think of shopping anywhere else.
Called about buying used RAV4 XLE. Told me veh would be available to see after 4:00 pm. Vehicle was not available.
We picked up our new Sienna from A1 Toyota yesterday. I can’t say enough about the positive buying experience we had. We worked with Gary and Kevin in the sales process and Paul in the finance process. The whole process was stress free and completely non invasive. Paul found us an excellent interest rate on our loan, and Kevin gave us a very thorough tutorial on our van, especially the safety and roadside maintenance features (spare tire, tools, etc.). When it’s time for our next vehicle, we’ll look at A1 first.

From my first touch encounter I would describe the experience as attentive, responsive, professional and communicative especially with the supply chain issues being experienced nationally. The delivery was a pleasure and the extraordinary teamwork at A1 sets an example that exceeded my expectations. A normally stressful experience leasing an automobile was a pleasure right down to the business transaction. Love my Toyota 2022 Highlander.
Salesman Kevin Wright was wonderful. However, unhappy with management - ordered a new car from factory, waited almost 2 months, when it arrived it took several days to finalize the loan from my bank, and dealership didn't want to wait those several days - said they would sell my vehicle to someone else. I had to pull strings with the bank to make it happen that fast, and almost couldn't pull it off but I did. That left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Puts profits above people,, I went into the dealership on Saturday to test ride a 2017 Toyota Corolla.. A1 Toyota has earned our repeat business for 5 consecutive cars. Just leased a wonderful 2021 RAV4 Limited and the experience could not have been better. All paperwork, insurance transfer, registration transfer and lease paperwork was done perfectly. A1 went to extra step to find the exact RAV4 that we wanted in the trim, colors and option packages we desired. Would certainly do business with them again... also their service center is really well run, not that we have ever had anything substantial ever break on our Toyortas.
