Takata Airbag Safety Recall

The Takata Airbag Safety Recall is the largest recall in automotive history, involving 19 automakers and tens of millions of airbags. Defective airbags can cause serious injury or even death if not repaired immediately.

Takata Safety Recall Background Information Toyota has initiated Safety Recalls for certain Toyota, Scion, and Lexus vehicles equipped with Takata Front Passenger Airbag Inflators and one Toyota model equipped with a Takata Driver's Airbag Inflator (see the sections below for details). When the airbags in these vehicles deploy, the inflator can explode, shooting sharp metal fragments at vehicle occupants. This can result in serious injury or even death. To understand if your vehicle is currently involved in these recalls, please use the convenient Safety Recall Lookup Tool above. Follow the instructions for your vehicle as listed. If your vehicle does not currently indicate any open Safety Recalls, please return to A-1 Toyota at least every three months to confirm the Safety Recall status for your vehicle, because more vehicles will be added in the future.
